1. Who we are
Port Riders: Vizhinjam is developed and published by Deep Play Studio LTD (registered in England & Wales, with studio operations in the UK and Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India). For any privacy questions, data access requests, or deletion requests, email info@deepplaystudio.com.
2. Why we collect your email on the early-access page
When you submit your email address on the Port Riders: Vizhinjam early-access page, we process it for two specific purposes:
- Early-access registration & demand measurement: To record genuine player interest in the Android early-access preview and take you immediately to the Build 32 APK download section.
- Optional build updates (only if you opt in): If—and only if—you tick the optional checkbox asking for occasional email updates when major new Android builds or playtest milestones are ready, we record that consent along with its timestamp and policy version (
2026-11-07).
No implied marketing: Entering your email to continue to the Android download does not subscribe you to marketing emails. During this preview phase, our website does not send automated emails or enroll addresses in third-party marketing platforms.
Format validation note: Client and server email checks verify syntax only and do not verify inbox ownership. If you submit the same email address more than once, we deduplicate the normalized address so repeat submissions are handled safely without creating duplicate records.
3. Page presentation experiment & anonymous measurement
To understand how best to present Port Riders: Vizhinjam to players, the early-access registration page runs a 50/50 A/B experiment comparing two page layouts:
- Variant A: Direct gameplay and Android build overview.
- Variant B: Community and early-supporter development overview.
To keep your experience consistent across page refreshes and navigation, your browser stores a randomly generated anonymous visitor identifier (dps_pr_exp_vid), your assigned variant (dps_pr_exp_var, set to A or B) in a first-party cookie (valid for up to 90 days) and localStorage, plus a temporary session identifier (dps_pr_exp_sid) in sessionStorage.
We record three first-party experiment events in our database: page exposure (exposure), confirmed registration (signup_success), and clicking the APK download button (download_click). Each event stores a timestamp, variant (A or B), anonymous visitor/session identifiers, and sanitized campaign attribution (such as utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, and referrer hostname).
No personal data in URLs or telemetry: Email addresses are never placed in URLs, query parameters, browser analytics events, or application logs. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site profiling pixels on this page.
4. The Android early-access APK (Build 32)
The downloadable Android package (com.projectvizhinjam.foundation, Build 32) is an offline-capable single-player exploration preview. It runs locally on your Android device and does not require an in-game account, does not collect your contacts or location, and contains no advertising SDKs or in-app purchases.
The APK binary is hosted on GitHub Releases. When you download the APK from GitHub, GitHub processes standard technical connection data (such as your IP address and user agent) to deliver the file under the GitHub Privacy Statement.
5. Storage, security, and abuse protection
Registration and experiment records are stored in Deep Play Studio LTD's encrypted PostgreSQL database hosted on Railway infrastructure. Access to registration records and aggregate experiment metrics is restricted to authenticated Deep Play Studio administrators.
To protect the service against automated abuse and denial-of-service requests, our backend enforces per-IP rate limits in memory and processes technical connection logs for security and reliability.
6. Retention, access, withdrawal of consent, and deletion
We retain Port Riders: Vizhinjam early-access registration records for the duration of the Port Riders early-access and launch programme, or until you ask us to delete your email address, and for no longer than 24 months after the conclusion of early access unless you actively opt into ongoing studio updates.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your registered email address—or withdraw optional updates consent at any time—by emailing info@deepplaystudio.com from or referencing the email address you used. You can also clear the anonymous visitor assignment cookie at any time through your browser settings.
